Q: Where are the pieces from?

I (Ashley) hand-source the Portuguese baskets in the Algarve, the Italian ceramics from Puglia, and the art is primarily from Sweden and England, however I have sourced pieces from Finland, Spain, France, America, Belgium, Germany, and Holland. The rugs are also primarily from Sweden however there are some rugs from Turkey and Iraq. I also go antiquing and estate sale- attending in Miami (or where ever I am traveling) as much as possible. (My poor family- bless! They’re always being dragged along haha.)

I am on the hunt for pieces that make my heart sing to bring to The Beaux Store 24/7.

Q: Are all pieces one-of-a-kind or vintage?

Yes, all items are one-of-a-kind and/or vintage. My favourite part about that is the resulting blemishes, marks, dings, fades, tears and worn areas. Aka, patina and character! This does not make them defective, it makes them unique. Each piece has a story, and each story is completely different. Please keep that in mind whilst shopping and curating lifelong pieces to surround you in your home.

Q: Are the rugs cleaned?

You bet. All rugs are professionally cleaned here in Miami before arriving in your home.

Q: Ugh shipping costs are the worst!

OMG, I agree. I have access to business shipping rates and they are still high! I generally have to ship each in its own box which is why I do have to charge shipping per item. I always absorb the shipping costs over the flat rate.

Flat rate per piece is 20$ for US orders, $40 for CAN, $120 for UK/EU, $140 for AUS/NZ/HK.

Additionally, for international orders, pls note that I am legally required to note the correct amount paid on invoices and there may be import duties/taxes due upon delivery. Not fun, but such is tax law.😮‍💨

Q: When do new items go live?

Sundays at 12pm EST/9am PST/ 5pm GMT. I always send the first dibs to my dear First Looksies subscribers, and then I post to Instagram.

I love helping clients and designers get the right piece, so never hesitate to email or DM me if you’d like me to source something for you or superimpose art into your space to help visualize it all better.

Q: What are shipping terms?

I am a one-woman-full-time-mom-slash- business-owner so sometimes it does take me a few days to get your order collected. Thanks for your patience. :)

Each piece is wrapped and packaged by me. I aim to ship placed orders as soon as possible, generally within 2-4 days after the order is processed. Please be in touch if you have any concerns: ashley@thebeauxstore.com.

Please allow for extra time for international orders to arrive due to the nature and distance the parcel must cover.

The Beaux Store is not responsible for incurred duties and customs, and I am legally responsible to note the sold prices on invoices when submitting to customs.

Q: Do you upcycle packaging materials?

Yes, 95% of all packaging is upcycled. I pack everything myself and sometimes have fights with the tape gun so not every package is perfect, but everything is packed securely with a ton of love. Reduce, reuse, recycle ✌

Q: Could I rent pieces for shoots?

To the trade, yes. Rental rates are 20% of the price and shipping both ways will be invoiced to the renter.

Q: Do you offer trade pricing?

Yes for fellow dealers and designers, please get in touch if you qualify/ are interested in trade pricing.

Also I have about 50 new and unseen pieces in my studio at all times…so truly, I can get you the art you need 🫡

Q: How can I see pieces that aren’t yet listed on the website or get priority previews?

Sign up for my First Looksies here. I try to send this email 2-24 hours before the drop on Sundays at 12pm EST.

Q: Do you have a physical location?

No, I operate strictly online at the present. However I am happy to make special videos to send over to you of the pieces you’d like to see/compare and at my discretion, a facetime call. However, videos are usually higher quality. :)

Q: What are import duty examples if I purchase a piece to come to the UK?

As a loose rule of thumb, the UK import duty is usually a standard 20% VAT, which is paid directly to them via the courier. You won’t have to pay American sales taxes at checkout, but UK VAT will likely be incurred. However in my experience when I was London-based, the duties for the pieces I would import could range wildly between 5-20%. This is just to give a point of reference and it could vary.
