Travel Journal: Lavender Fields

If Im honest everytime I see a peony all I want to do is take a bite out of it and i think the same goes for lavender. Also maybe now should be the time to mention I used to eat petunias as a kid. i wish any of that was hyperbole.

anyway, just about 45 mins south of london is a beautiful organic (SAFE WORD) lavender field and it makes me happy as a button. or whatever.

here i am running through fields of flowers over and over again and i effing loved every second of it.

My happy place

There is no better way to spend sunday mornings than by dragging bae out of bed at 8am to get to columbia flower mrkt by 830. (aka bae is a saint.)

super side note- i recently found out that bae is an acronym for 'before anyone else' and i really like that. calling bae 'bae' began as a joke (short for babe bc babe is too long OR SO I THOUGHT) and now it makes me get a little teeny surge of teary eyes- ahem, i mean its like whatever.

so columbia flower market- here is the deal.  in may- get there at 8/830am to get your pick of peonies. all other times of the year- get there at 3pm for killer bargains on cacti and house plants. I highly recommend avoiding going between 10-2...too crowded and not fun.

I love flower markets. I love flowers. I love london.

What is up Spring/Summer!! Oh man it feels good to say that after 9 nine months of huge clothes (well, actually I kind of love that part), dry skin, freezing 24/7 and that pallid face/body situation...

I would love to tell you the glamorous blogger story of this photo shoot: I popped by to have an apres-work cocktail with bae at the Ivy in Chelsea and there happened to be this amazing flower wall and whoa, that's wierd, I happen to have on an outfit I want to photograph!! What a great day.

But...(Hm, I'm hesitant to tell you real life because I want to create this magical world of whimsy and fancy-free but whatever because it has been a weird week and I have been listening to the same three Zayn songs on repeat for the last 1.5 hours #myphoneistoofarawaytochangethemusic. So yolo (...has enough time passed for that to be cool again?...tbd/NO.) ).

I woke up my hubbahubby at 630am on a Friday morning and asked him to walk with me to Chelsea before the Ivy opened so we could take a photo of this flower wall. He said yes! Awesome.

We get there, I change out of my birkenstocks, put sunglasses on though it's a cloudy day, and take frenzied photos because I have this very unhealthy default mindset which is: there's not enough time, space, options, anything. (Note to self: Do more yoga/meditation...)

We sit down for a tea but the staff at all the Ivys is so bush league/MIA, it was hard to enjoy ourselves so we left and now I've used a picture of an Ivy brunch we had eaten at the Marylebone location a while back to make it seem like we had a whimsical late brunch after work.

And then I went home and shampooed my hair with conditioner (#weirdweekcontinued).

This is blogging my friends, this is blogging.
