hey party people. its still me, just a different year. ive been on a huge podcast binge this past week and have even had some success outside of podcasts in finding some things i find palatable in the more general context so i wanted to share. here the the things i like this week*.
Mantra for the week: "I talk to myself like i talk to someone I love".
Podcast for the week: Magic Lessons by Liz Gilbert (I don't love her books nor do i like magic but this was good for all the right reasons)
Blog of the week: free + native (manifestation hacks all up in there)
Mom to be goals of the week/forever: sacred purification of pregnancy, xochi balfor
Lifestyle clothing brand of the week/also forever: yoli & otis
Band of the Week: San Scout (unreal music FUNKY FRESHHHH)
Updates of the Week:
1. Ive given up 95% dairy since November and its been a nice feeling to let go of things that no longer serve me. Except for hard cheese like gruyere. i really like hard cheese. anyway my skin is better/clearer and i think i feel better (???)
2. Ive stuck with aluminium-free baking soda and organic apple cider vinegar hair washing regime 90% of the time since November too (i dilute both in squirt bottles with water). 10% of the time i use store bought organic shamp/cond when my hair bugs out. i tend to have oily hair up top and dry at the bottom and that hasnt really changed (it also didnt change when i bought super expensive and suppppeerr dirty oribe or kerastase for a serious chunk of my life either. ugh everyone would swear: "just give it time" theyd say "youll see" theyd say...#ugh) but I do feel better about eliminating endrocrine inhibitors and simplifying whenever possible. I also havent worn makeup since November either. Its been surprisingly liberating but im still finding the line of feminine and natural vs. unkept and unfinished. will keep you posted. 143. (sorry for all the sniffing ugh gosh)
Life Update of the Week: In the next two months I will be launching The Beaux Store after spending the last 15 years of my life collecting one of a kind pieces for my own home on my travels...now im going to curate a store that yea ok will mostly be vintage rugs, baskets, and maybe even a natural hand-poured candle with organic essential oils or two by yours truly that i've picked up around the world.
Misc. Updates: none. oh! except this week i saw a 2 year old kid watch his little bro getting his diaper changed and then proceeded to gag and almost throw up but couldnt stop watching. his mom was like leave!! and he just keep gagging/nearly vomiting. so.
I think thats everything. Back to London this weekend, and I have lots of fun rugs to bring back with me from my massive roadtrip. hope you guys are as excited as i am.
BIG KISS xoxo, ashley
*week is an arbitrary amount of time, ill like most of these things for indubitably longer.
